Frans Moors is one of the most highly regarded yoga teachers in the French-speaking world. He started to practice yoga in 1969. After 10 years of regular practice in various styles of yoga he enrolled in a teacher training program.
At the beginning of the 1980s he went to Madras (Chennai, India) to continue his studies at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram (KYM).
A few years later TKV Desikachar became his direct teacher and for the past 25 years Frans has returned annually to the teaching source to deepen his knowledge under his guidance.
In 1983 he co-founded the magazine “Viniyoga” of which he was chief editor for 17 years. Frans has been teaching yoga full time since 1984, training teachers and holding seminars. His training programs are under the umbrella of the Krishnamacharya Healing and Yoga Foundation (KHYF), the Belgian Yoga Federation (FBY) and the French Yoga Institute (IFY). He is endorsed by the European Yoga Union (UEY), and has also given many lectures and seminars in French speaking Canada for the Centre Canadien de Yoga (Quebec), in Spain and in Great Britain.
In August 1987, he was the laureate of the Advanced Yoga Diploma in Grimentz (Switzerland). In 2000 he co-authored “The Viniyoga of Yoga” with TKV Desikachar and Kausthub Desikachar. He has also published a French translation and commentary of the Yoga-Sutra of Patañjali. Frans lives in Belgium.
